Launching the Vietnam Knowledge Network in New Zealand

This event marks the formation of the first Vietnam knowledge network operating on a New Zealand-wide scale. VKNZ was established to connect and leverage the intellectual resources of the Vietnamese community, strengthen community cohesion, promote people-to-people cooperation as well as cooperation between the two countries, and make a positive contribution to the common development of Vietnam and New Zealand.

With the patronage and support of the Vietnamese Embassy in New Zealand, the Vietnam Knowledge Network in New Zealand aims to build a united, dynamic, and influential community; create a space for members to share knowledge, experience, and initiatives; and become a bridge to promote professional cooperation, community development, and people-to-people exchanges between Vietnam and New Zealand.

Expressing his appreciation for the significance and importance of the initiative to establish the VKNZ Network, Vietnamese Ambassador to New Zealand Phan Minh Giang emphasized that, in the context of the Vietnamese community in New Zealand growing in both quantity and quality, the VKNZ Network was established for, by, and dedicated to Vietnamese people in New Zealand.

In offering suggestions for the future development of the Network, the Ambassador conveyed the message of "three enhancements," including cherishing and caring for Vietnamese people, uniting for mutual development, enhancing Vietnam's image, preserving and promoting Vietnamese identity, and elevating Vietnam's position in New Zealand.

VKNZ currently has nearly 100 members, including experts, academics, entrepreneurs, researchers, students, and workers living, studying, and working throughout New Zealand.

One of VKNZ's hallmarks is its broad approach to the concept of "knowledge." Knowledge is not limited to academics or research but also encompasses professional expertise, life skills, practical experience, and lessons learned through learning, working, and contributing.

With that spirit in mind, VKNZ welcomes all Vietnamese people in New Zealand who wish to connect, share, and contribute, regardless of profession, field of activity, or educational background.

Currently, there are nearly 15,000 Vietnamese people living in New Zealand. The launch of the Vietnamese Knowledge Network in New Zealand is not only a forum for connecting the community, but VKNZ is also expected to become a bridge to promote cooperation, disseminate knowledge, and enhance people-to-people exchanges, contributing to building a united, integrated, and sustainably developing Vietnamese community in New Zealand.
