The imprint of Vietnam’s culture at the Seoul Friendship Festival 2026

The Seoul Spring Festival is one of the largest international cultural exchange events held annually in Seoul (South Korea). This event attracts participation from most diplomatic missions in South Korea, along with many international cultural organizations. It's not only an opportunity for countries to promote their image and national cultural identity, but also a meaningful space for people-to-people exchanges, contributing to fostering understanding, friendship, and cooperation between nations and peoples.

The Seoul Friendship Festival 2026 takes place on May 9th and 10th, at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), featuring embassies and cultural centers from 73 countries. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the festival, held under the theme "30 Years with the World, Connecting Cultures."

The event brings together dozens of international cultural and culinary booths alongside various experiential activities, such as art performances, cultural exchanges, traditional costume trials, folk games, and specialized programs for families and children.

Participating in this year's Seoul Spring Festival, the Vietnamese Embassy in South Korea offered delegates and visitors an exciting experience of Vietnam's country, culture, and people through images of scenic spots, cultural heritage, socio-economic development achievements, tourism products, traditional handicrafts, and more. In addition, many lively cultural exchange and experience activities were organized, showcasing famous tourist destinations in Vietnam.

In particular, the Vietnamese food area left a very positive impression on visitors with its distinctive dishes featuring traditional flavors such as grilled pork with noodles, bread and Vietnamese coffee. Many Korean tourists expressed their enthusiastic love for Vietnamese cuisine and their desire to visit Vietnam in the near future.

According to Vietnamese Ambassador Vu Ho, participating in the Seoul Spring Festival 2026 is a meaningful opportunity to strengthen people-to-people exchanges and promote the image of Vietnam, its people, and culture to international friends.

"The Vietnamese booth is not only a place to promote culture, tourism, and cuisine, but also contributes to spreading the positive values of Vietnam and its people; at the same time, it strengthens the social foundation and friendly sentiments for the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to develop more deeply and substantively," Ambassador Vu Ho emphasized.

The presence of the Vietnamese booth at the festival further demonstrates the positive role of the Vietnamese community in South Korea in preserving and spreading national cultural identity, while contributing to strengthening understanding, friendship, and connection between the people of Vietnam and South Korea.
