General Secretary and President hopes that Vietnamese entrepreneurs in Russia continue serving as nuclei for bilateral cooperation
General Secretary and President To Lam had a cordial conversation with officials and staff of the Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Russia
General Secretary and President expressed his desire for Vietnamese experts in Russia to serve as a pioneering force in connecting new cooperation initiatives, and for entrepreneurs to act as the core nuclei bridging businesses between the two countries.
During his State visit to the Russian Federation at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin, on the evening of September 7th (local time) in Moscow, General Secretary and President To Lam, along with his wife and the high-level Vietnamese delegation, met with officials and staff of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in the Russian Federation.
At the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Russian Federation Dang Minh Khoi stated that the Vietnamese community in the Russian Federation is currently a united community, always looking towards their homeland. The Russian Federation government and local authorities always pay attention to and create favorable conditions for the community. The Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Russian Federation has truly become a social organization representing the interests and caring for the spiritual and material well-being of the community.
Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi stated that, amidst the complex and volatile global and regional situation, cooperation between the two countries continues to be strengthened and consolidated. High-level visits and contacts are maintained regularly; trade is expanded; tourism and people-to-people exchanges are sustained. Many large-scale, symbolic cooperation projects have been signed. This visit to Russia by the General Secretary and President will create a strong impetus to promote cooperation between the two countries in all fields, bringing practical benefits to both countries and their people, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
Reporting on the situation of the Vietnamese community in the Russian Federation, Mr. Do Xuan Hoang, Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese People in the Russian Federation, expressed his honor in welcoming General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation; affirming that this is a precious opportunity for those far from their homeland to express their feelings, beliefs, and deep attachment to the Party, the State, and their homeland.
Mr. Do Xuan Hoang shared that the Vietnamese community in Russia is always aware that every action and deed contributes to building the image of Vietnam and its people. Therefore, Vietnamese people in the Russian Federation encourage each other to respect the local culture, customs, and social life; contribute to the local community; and at the same time preserve the Vietnamese language, culture, and the fine traditions of the nation, building a community that is united but not isolated; integrated but not assimilated; and success goes hand in hand with responsibility. From Russia, the community always looks towards Vietnam with faith, pride, and great expectations. They rejoice in the great and historically significant achievements that the country has attained in the process of renovation, construction, defense, and enhancing its international standing.
General Secretary and President To Lam presents gifts to the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Russia
Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary and President To Lam highly appreciated the Embassy and other representative agencies for successfully fulfilling their nhiệm vụ as representatives of the Vietnamese State in the Russian Federation, and for serving as a bridge to bring together and unite the Vietnamese community.
In informing the people about the domestic situation, General Secretary and President To Lam said that Vietnam is setting high development goals with a target of double-digit growth or higher, promoting development in all aspects to become a high-income country, and ensuring that the people's lives are constantly improving and becoming of higher quality.
The General Secretary and President affirmed that the Party and State always pay attention to and better protect the legitimate rights and interests of the Vietnamese community abroad, as well as creating conditions for overseas Vietnamese to become increasingly connected with their homeland. In particular, the Politburo recently issued Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW on the work related to overseas Vietnamese, concretizing the major policies of the 14th National Congress and marking a new development in the Party's thinking, recognizing overseas Vietnamese not only as an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation, but also as one of the important strategic resources contributing to enhancing the overall national strength. The General Secretary and President stated that in the coming period, the Party and State will continue to improve the institutional framework, mechanisms, and policies to create a comprehensive, open, and groundbreaking system to connect, attract, and effectively utilize the resources of overseas Vietnamese, especially intellectuals, experts, entrepreneurs, scientists, and the younger generation of Vietnamese living abroad.
In that spirit, General Secretary and President To Lam called on Vietnamese people abroad to strongly respond to the spirit of Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW, proactively participating more extensively in the cause of national construction and development and the protection of the Fatherland from early on and from afar. The Vietnamese community in Russia should continue to uphold the tradition of solidarity, love, and mutual assistance; actively integrate, abide by local laws ; and build a civilized, dynamic, responsible, and distinctive Vietnamese community.
General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his hope that Vietnamese scientists, experts, and intellectuals in Russia, with their valuable knowledge, experience, and cooperation networks, would continue to promote creativity, courage, and responsibility, acting as a pioneering force in connecting knowledge, science, technology, and new cooperation initiatives; that Vietnamese entrepreneurs in Russia would continue to be key drivers of economic, trade, and investment cooperation; connecting businesses of the two countries; contributing to expanding new areas of cooperation, in line with the potential and development needs of both Vietnam and the Russian Federation; and that the younger generation would always nurture aspirations for advancement, constantly learn, master new knowledge, confidently integrate with the world, and continue writing the story of Vietnam-Russia friendship in the 21st century with their intellect, open-mindedness, talent, and responsibility.
The General Secretary and President requested that Vietnamese representative agencies in the Russian Federation continue to innovate their thinking, improve the quality of research, forecasting, and strategic advice; make greater efforts to implement agreements of high-level leaders of the two countries to further deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia in all fields; continue to pay attention to and support the activities of Vietnamese people and organizations, do a better job of protecting citizens, consolidate the great national unity, and create conditions for Vietnamese people, especially the younger generation, to actively contribute to the cause of national defense and development.
