Recruitment for campers to participate in the 2026 Summer Camp "Overseas Vietnamese Youth and City Youth"

With the theme "Proud of the City Named After Uncle Ho", Summer Camp will take place from August 25-29, and is for Vietnamese youth living abroad aged 12-25.

This year's Summer Camp is expected to bring together 50 young overseas Vietnamese participants from various countries and territories. Over the course of 5 days and 4 nights, the delegates will participate in a series of experiential activities, exchange ideas, and learn about the history and culture of the new Ho Chi Minh City.

A new feature of the program is the itinerary, which is designed to pass through many iconic landmarks such as Saigon Ward, Di An Ward, and the Con Dao Special Zone. In Con Dao, campers will meet former political prisoners, participate in a candlelight vigil at Hang Duong Cemetery, and learn about the system of revolutionary historical relics on the island.

In addition, the delegation will lay wreaths at the Monument to President Ho Chi Minh, visit the Nga Ba Giong Historical Site, interact with the Ho Chi Minh City Resistance Tradition Club, participate in charitable activities, and visit social welfare facilities in Binh Duong province.

One of the overarching themes of the summer camp is the practice of Vietnamese language through group activities, games, presentations, and cultural performances, contributing to fostering a love for the Vietnamese language, culture, and national identity among young Vietnamese people abroad.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Office, the program is organized to strengthen the connection between overseas Vietnamese youth and their homeland, creating opportunities for them to better understand the history, culture, and development of the country. Through practical experiences, the campers will become "ambassadors" spreading the image of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City to the international community when they return to their places of residence.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee will cover all costs for food, accommodation, domestic travel, and program activities. Participants are responsible for their own travel expenses from their home country back to Vietnam, as well as any personal expenses outside of the program.

According to the organizers, participants must be in good health, possess a sense of discipline, have teamwork skills, and be proficient in basic Vietnamese. Priority will be given to young people nominated by Vietnamese representative agencies abroad or Vietnamese associations; children of overseas Vietnamese families who have made significant contributions to the community; or those with outstanding achievements in academics, culture, arts, sports , and social activities.
