On May 17, at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka, the Award Ceremony for the "Vietnamese Language Ambassador in Japan" 2026 was solemnly held, combined with the Opening Ceremony of the Vietnamese class at Cay Tre Vietnamese School in Sakai City.

The event formed part of activities celebrating the Day for Honouring the Vietnamese Language in Overseas Vietnamese Communities, carrying profound significance in preserving and spreading the Vietnamese language among overseas Vietnamese.

Attending the programme were Mr Nguyen Truong Son, Consul General of Vietnam in Osaka; Ms Le Thuong, Head of the Organising Committee; Prof. Dr Huynh Van Chuong, Director General of the Department of Quality Management under Viet Nam's Ministry of Education and Training; along with representatives from educational institutions, associations and the Vietnamese community in Japan.

In her opening remarks, Ms Le Thuong highlighted the programme's significance in building a structured environment for learning and using Vietnamese among young overseas Vietnamese in Japan. She stressed that each "Vietnamese Language Ambassador" was not merely an award recipient, but also carried the mission of spreading love for the Vietnamese language and preserving national cultural identity far from home.
