The delegation visited to offer warm congratulations on the 96th anniversary of the establishment of the VWU (1930-2026) and Vietnam Women’s Day (October 20).

The delegation included Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh, spouse of the Consul General of Vietnam in Khon Kaen; alongside representatives of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association, the Branch of Vietnamese Ao Dai Cultural Heritage in Thailand, the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club of Dak Lak Province, as well as outstanding business leaders and designers.

During the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh expressed her deep emotion and honor at receiving such a warm and thoughtful welcome from the leadership of the Vietnam Women's Union.

Reflecting on memorable milestones, she shared the immense pride felt by overseas Vietnamese women in Thailand whenever wearing the traditional ao dai at major cultural diplomacy events. A prime example was the event commemorating the 81st National Day and the 50th anniversary of Vietnam - Thailand diplomatic relations, held in Udon Thani Province last August. For women living far from home, ao dai is not merely an outfit, but a sacred gift encompassing their love for the homeland and national pride.

Mrs. Le Thi Thuy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and President of the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU), spoke at the meeting

President Le Thi Thuy acknowledged and praised the establishment and vibrant activities of the Branch of Vietnamese Ao Dai Cultural Heritage in Thailand. Despite being established only in early 2026, the branch has spearheaded practical initiatives to preserve and honor the beauty of the traditional attire, contributing to the promotion of national culture and strengthening solidarity within the overseas Vietnamese community in Thailand. She also highly appreciated the dedicated support and partnership of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Khon Kaen in work related to overseas Vietnamese women.

Briefing the delegation on the Union's key directions and tasks for the new tenure, President Le Thi Thuy emphasized that the organization always aims toward two core goals: protecting and caring for women, safeguarding and supporting children. These objectives are closely tied to promoting economic empowerment for women, boosting entrepreneurship, advancing cultural heritage and expanding social welfare programs.

The Union highly values the immense potential of the female business community, particularly the dynamism of the Young Entrepreneurs Association and the network of overseas Vietnamese women. To leverage these resources, President Le Thi Thuy suggested that both sides step up annual exchange programs, trade promotion, or alternate reciprocal delegation visits between Vietnam and Thailand. Through these endeavors, promoting the ao dai can be linked directly with commercial connections, the showcase of flagship products, and local tourism promotion.

The delegation congratulated the Vietnam Women’s Union on its 96th Anniversary and Vietnam Women’s Day (October 20)

President Le Thi Thuy expressed her hope that Vietnamese women in Thailand will continue to play their role as cultural bridges, preserving national identity for younger generations, while preserving and honoring historical sites associated with President Ho Chi Minh in Thailand. On the occasion of Vietnam Women's Day on October 20, President Le Thi Thuy wished Ms. Hoang Anh and the delegation good health, happiness, continued success, remaining a strong bridge of friendship between the peoples of both nations.
